[it's much more form-fitting than his other clothes, by virtue of not being flowing robes! he's going in and out of his bathroom, dumping a few lotus pods onto his table and then going back in for more. but he spots Lan Wangji peeking in during a trip back, and stops to wave him inside. the whole room smells faintly of plants, dirt, and rabbit poop]

[ducks in to grab two more pods before taking a seat at the low table; he gestures for Lan Wangji to sit with him and starts picking out the seeds to plop them into a bowl, one by one]

I already said it wasn't something big. But I can promise they're tasty.

[he does pout when Lan Wangji reaches for a pod, but it's an exaggerated pout clearly signifying that he wanted to be the one picking them for Lan Wangji: all in good fun, and nothing serious. he keeps picking seeds and plunking them into the bowl]

Of course I was correct. I'm speaking from many years of experience, after all. But when did you try them before this?

there aren't that many and the bowl is empty soon! but he looks satisfied as he starts to pick more]

[he is not careful at all; his teeth scrape Lan Wangji's fingers as he eats it, licking his lips after]

I should have gotten some salt for these.
